Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. We never sell your data.

01

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Milestone Immigration, Inc. (“Milestone”, “we”) handles personal information when you use our website, client portal and services (the “Services”).

An immigration case involves some of your most personal information — passports, finances, family details, your work history. We collect only what the case needs, protect it carefully, and never sell it.

Where legal services are provided by Morgan & Reyes LLP (the “Partner Firm”), the Partner Firm also handles your information under its professional duties of confidentiality.

02

Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • contact details — name, email, phone, country of residence;
  • background for your case — CV, education, employment history, achievements, press, publications, awards, funding and company information;
  • identity and immigration documents — passport, visas, I-94 records, prior petitions and approvals;
  • information about family members, where relevant to your case (for example, dependents);
  • financial information needed for certain visas, such as source-of-funds records for E-2;
  • messages you send us and information you provide on forms.

Information from others, with your knowledge: people who write recommendation letters for you, and your employer or company where they are part of your case.

Information collected automatically: device and browser type, pages visited, approximate location from IP address, and similar usage data, collected through cookies and analytics tools.

03

How we use it

  • to assess your eligibility and prepare, file and manage your petition with the Partner Firm;
  • to communicate with you about your case, fees and timelines;
  • to run, secure and improve the Services;
  • to meet legal and regulatory obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims;
  • to send you updates about Milestone, if you choose to receive them — you can opt out at any time.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions with legal effects about you. Every legal judgment is made by an attorney.

05

How we share it

We share your information only as needed to provide the Services:

  • with the Partner Firm and its attorneys, who provide your legal services;
  • with service providers that host, secure, process payments for or otherwise support the Services, under contracts that limit their use of your data;
  • with AI providers that process documents on our behalf, under zero-data-retention terms (see below);
  • with U.S. government agencies, such as USCIS and the Department of State, when filing at your direction;
  • when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of you, us or others;
  • with a successor if Milestone is involved in a merger or acquisition, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

06

AI processing

We use enterprise AI services to help organize evidence and prepare drafts. These providers process your documents only to perform the task, under terms that prohibit them from retaining your data or using it to train their models. Milestone does not use your data to train AI models. AI output is always reviewed by an attorney.

07

Sensitive information

Some information we handle is sensitive, such as passport numbers, immigration status and financial records. We use it only to provide the Services, restrict access to your attorney and assigned case team, and store it encrypted.

08

How long we keep it

We keep case records for as long as your case is active and for seven years after it closes, or longer where the law or the Partner Firm’s professional obligations require. Inquiry information from people who do not become clients is deleted after two years. After the retention period, information is securely deleted or anonymized.

09

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication for staff, logging of access to case records, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.

10

International transfers

Milestone is based in the United States and stores data in the United States. If you are outside the U.S., your information will be transferred there. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

11

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • correct information that is inaccurate;
  • delete your information, subject to legal and professional record-keeping obligations;
  • object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent;
  • receive your information in a portable format.

California residents have the rights described above under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

To make a request, contact us through our contact form. We will verify your identity and respond within the time the law requires. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

12

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to run the Services and keep you signed in, and analytics cookies to understand how the website is used. Where required, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

13

Children

The Services are not directed at children. Information about a child is collected only where it is part of a parent’s case — for example, as a dependent — and only from the parent or guardian.

14

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new date and tell you about material changes.
